Local Emergency Planning Committee

The Calcasieu Parish Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) was formed by Public Law Public Law 99-499, Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986 (SARA), Title III. This committee’s responsibilities are as follows:

    1. Development, training, and testing of hazardous substances emergency response plan for Calcasieu Parish.
    2. Development of procedures for regulated facilities to provide Informational and Emergency notification to the LEPC in accordance with SARA, Title III.
    3. Development of procedures for receiving and processing requests from the public under the Community Right-to-Know provisions of SARA, Title III.
    4.  Provision for public notification of committee activities.

This committee meets on the following schedule:


  1. The Full Committee meets every other even month, on the third Tuesday at 10:00 at 901 Lakeshore Dr. Suite 200 Lake Charles, Louisiana 70601.
  2. The Executive Board meets every other odd month, on the third Tuesday at 10:00 at 901 Lakeshore Dr. Suite 200 Lake Charles, Louisiana 70601.
